Planning Joy as a Rare Disease Mom

I recently had the incredible opportunity to join Wendy on her podcast, Say Yes! To Yourself, hosted on Phineas Writhe House, to talk about a topic close to my heart: planning joy as a rare disease mom. Navigating life as both a parent and an advocate has taught me that finding and creating moments of joy isn’t just a luxury—it’s essential.

During the episode, we explore how I approach life with intention, from celebrating small milestones with my sons to designing products at Wish Wear Accessories that bring comfort, independence, and fun to kids with disabilities. I share personal stories about turning daily challenges into solutions, finding “glimmers” of progress, and making space for joy even in complex circumstances.

The conversation also highlights the philosophy behind Wish Wear Accessories: every product we create is rooted in empathy, creativity, and purpose. From adaptive clothing and accessories to custom solutions for children with rare conditions like CTNNB1, our mission is to make life easier—and more joyful—for families who need it most.

I hope listeners walk away feeling inspired to say yes to themselves, embrace the small moments of joy in everyday life, and know they are not alone in their journey.

At Wish Wear Accessories, our work is more than just designing products—it’s about creating meaningful moments of comfort, confidence, and joy for children and families navigating rare diseases. Every idea, stitch, and innovation is driven by that mission, and I’m so grateful to have shared it on Wendy’s podcast.
