Meet the Founder of Wish Wear Accessories

Hi! I’m Ashley, a proud mom of three, partner to my best friend, and navigating the beautifully chaotic life of a family of five. Our days are filled with big feelings, belly laughs, medical appointments, and moments of pure magic. Each of our kids brings something special to the mix, but it was our middle child, Maddox, who reshaped our world in the most unexpected and powerful way.

In 2015, Maddox was diagnosed with CTNNB1 Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that affects everything from movement and speech to vision and cognition. His diagnosis opened a door to a world we never imagined, filled with both challenges and the most incredible community of rare families. It also lit a fire in me to become an advocate, not just for Maddox, but for kids like him everywhere.

CTNNB1 brings a host of challenges: vision impairments, mobility limitations, speech delays, and seizures that impact nearly every aspect of life. As a family, we’ve learned to navigate this rare path with resilience, creativity, and a whole lot of love.

Along the way, I found purpose in designing practical, inclusive solutions that support Maddox and kiddos like him. In November 2021, my rare friend Effie shared a need for a waterproof, wheelchair-friendly blanket for her son Ford. Using insights from Effie’s experience, I designed a specialized adaptive wheelchair blanket that stays securely in place during daily walks and outings. The overwhelmingly positive response from families like ours sparked the birth of Wish Wear Accessories, a brand dedicated to creating accessible, adaptive, and disability-friendly clothing and accessories designed with love and understanding.

Today, we are proud to offer innovative, functional products that support children with physical disabilities, sensory sensitivities, and medical complexities—helping families everywhere make everyday life easier, more comfortable, and full of confidence.
